The bus driver, Elverna with the orange monkey in her bus was just delightful! Unfortunately, we couldn’t get her bus back, but if anyone reads this and goes with Sexy Elverna on the No 6 bus, please show her this! Her singing and commentary were fabulous! We loved her. ❤️
This 18 mile 30 inch narrow gauge railway offers great views of St Kitts. Travelling at 9 miles per hour the journey takes 2 hours during which there is an informative commentary and complementary drinks including rum punch, fruit juice, beers and water. Carriages are double deck, with the lower deck being air conditioned, and the upper deck open. Access is by stairs so you need to be able to climb them. Staff are friendly and helpful and the views spectacular.
Had a great time, it was a fun experience! The train ride is rough but that is part of the adventure. You go through many small villages and the kids love to wave. The tracks were originally designed to haul the sugar cane from the plantations to the refinery. You are offered unlimited alcohol and non-alcohol drinks. Would totally recommend this excursion if you are looking for something different to do while in St Kitts!
What a great, fun experience! Although bumpy, it was great fun and the atmosphere was fab! Drinks were flowing and staff were friendly and attentive. Good value for money as the trip lasted around 1 hour 40 mins. Great to see the island from a different perspective, passing lots of rural villages. Would recommend if you are looking for a trip whilst in St Kitts!
